Peer comments on digital artefacts

The three digital artifacts pitches of my fellow peers in BCM325 I commented on were all completely different from one another making it an interesting and diverse experience to contribute to. During the engagements and further research into each of the pitch blogs and videos I was able to self evaluate on my own digital artifact and process of being an active peer allowing me to further understand the process of creating a digital artifact a little more. For each comment I did further research on their topic to be able to understand their topic a little better and to find a valuable source for their digital artifact process, for example Annesha who is doing a three blog posts on her future job in digital marketing i found an article that corresponds directly to how the digital marketing job market is evolving every year alongside technology and media usage. I found the article quite blunt and informative on the near and mid future of digital media marketing and noticed that she hadn’t used it while researching for her blog and thought it could be useful.

I also had a similar process while finding an article or source for Victoria who is also doing three blog posts for her DA but about the future and past of women’s roles in sci fi films. The source i found for victoria was a little harder mainly due to their not being many sources out that she hadn’t used in her pitch already, i eventually found an article about a women named Molly Flatts personal relationship with women in sci fi movies when she was young and how their image and the stereotypes shaped her thoughts surrounding women as she got older. The source was a little different from Victoria’s pitch but while researching and reading other comments on my other peers’ pitches I learnt that sometimes another perspective can be valuable in understanding your own DA and viewing how others can see what may be helpful for your DA that perhaps you couldn’t see before.

I had trouble with one DA. I particularly had trouble finding a source that could further her DA, I instead read and contributed to Laura’s pitch video, who is doing a series of tik toks centered around cooking for uni students. This DA idea was a little easier to find further research and sources for due to tik tok and cooking videos increasing in popularity in 2020 . Rosa’s DA is about her online stream and how she will predict future trends in streaming that she would then try and utilize and adapt into her stream, i personally don’t know much if anything about the streaming world so i of course did some research about it but wasn’t able to find much that could allow me to understand, therefore i had trouble on how to contribute to Rosa’s pitch. I knew that i wouldn’t be able to give Rosa constructive or what i consider valuable feedback which made me feel bad, it also made me reflect on whether others were having the same issues with my DA, both mine and Rosa’s DA’s are past DA’s that we are evolving from previous bcm classes so they are quite ‘established’ in their ideas and the future aspect may not be as clear and straightforward when compared to other DA’s in bcm325 which may make it difficult for others to understand. This reflection made me reevaluate my own DA and how I could incorporate the future cultures aspect a little more clearly to my DA in hopes that it may elevate my DA and make it more niche and less broad.
